Course Preview Pictures – Feb. 20th
My friend Eddic Habeck came down from northern Vermont to run the 10k course with me, and was kind enough to be my model for these shots. More photos to come. Enjoy.
The first single track section of the course at 1 mile.
The second big climb of the race and the 4th single track section at 1.5 miles.
The second single track section at 1.2 miles. This section includes a 20 foot climb.
The third single track section at 1.3 miles. This area keeps drifting and filling the in the tracks. We’ll make sure to track it good before the race.
The fifth single track section of the race at 2 miles. This is where the big climbs start.
The last ‘big’ climb of the race at 4.5 miles. It’s only 150 feet of climb in half a mile, but you’ll be spent when you get here.
The view from the summit, just past the 5k point. Stratton Mountain is in the distance. You’ve got one kilometer of downhill after this point.
Rime ice on the trees at the summit. Gorgeous views at this point in the other direction of Bennington, the Taconic Mountains and New York State.
The final single track section at 4.8 miles. It’s flat and beautiful and once you finish it, it’s almost all downhill to the finish.
